Jo Jingles lent its support to a local cancer fundraiser by keeping families entertained.

A mother with a rare from of cancer has been raising money for her local cancer support centre, with help from her local Jo Jingles.

Sarah Jane Newman, who has a rare form of uterine cancer, held a fundraiser to try to raise money for Maggies Centre at Charing Cross hospital. The centre is staffed by volunteers and relies on donations to keep running, offering cancer sufferers support and a less clinical place to see family and friends. Sarah explained exactly what the centre meant to her during her treatment:

It was a place that I felt safe and could feel normal. There was always someone to talk to and the volunteers made me feel like I was at home. It also gave my children a place to visit rather than having to see me in a hospital setting.

The fundraiser was hosted on the 22nd of September and local businesses donated prizes for a raffle and tombola. The childrens recreation franchise Jo Jingles also came along to run a fun session to keep all of the little ones entertained, letting them sing and dance while adults caught up over some coffee and cake. Its hoped that the money raised will help Maggies Centre to continue its fantastic work supporting people through the most difficult time of their lives.

Jo Jingles has more than 22 years of experience delivering fun and educational music sessions to children from three months to seven years. Its enjoyable classes are designed to help children explore their musicality and develop everything from their balance and co-ordination to their language skills through the power of music, as well as helping them form friendships with other musical children.
