Driver Hire celebrated the achievements of its dedicated franchisees at its 2019 annual conference.

Driver Hire brought all its hard-working franchisees together to celebrate all that they have achieved over the past 12 months. Around 150 attendees, which included franchisees and members of the logistics recruitment franchise’s head office, were invited to the conference, which was held at the impressive Principal Hotel in York.

They were treated to a fascinating presentation from keynote speaker Damian Hughes, who is a business writer and sports psychology consultant, in which he looked at how powerful curiosity can be in successful businesses and unpicked the DNA of winning culture.

Chief Executive of Driver Hire, Chris Chidley was also on-hand to take part in an interesting Q&A session, as well as offering insight into the success of 2018. The annual Driver Hire conference gives all of its franchisees a chance to get up to speed on industry news and get the insight of industry experts that they would struggle to find elsewhere, including 2019’s guest Duncan Buchanan, Policy Director at the Road Haulage Association.

Finally, there was also a glittering awards ceremony that saw people recognised for their hard work. The winner of the coveted Franchisee of the Year title was Diane Maxwell, who runs Driver Hire Belfast along with brother Danny, and she was presented the prestigious award by CEO Chris Chidley and UK MD Jeremy Neale. Other franchisees recognised for their success included Grant Wilson (Aberdeen), Richard Bradshaw (Guildford), Ed Pockney (Uxbridge) and Andy Daniels (Bolton & Wigan).

More than 18 franchisees picked up awards for reaching impressive annual turnover milestones, with eight exceeding a whopping £1.5 million. Three franchisees also celebrated the longevity of their franchise partnerships with Driver Hire, ranging from ten to 20 years.
