A father and stepson team have celebrated the completion of work on their 7,000th vehicle and are looking ahead to future success.

Despite operations temporarily coming to a complete halt due to COVID-19 for car repair franchise ChipsAway, franchisees Robert Ashmore and Jonathan Foster have celebrated completing work on their 7,000th car just three weeks later.

Since lockdown rules have been eased in the UK, Robert, who owns the ChipsAway Car Centre in Lincoln, has seen a surge in enquiries for people wanting to give their vehicles some TLC. Robert works alongside his stepson Johnathon and they are both confident that 2020 will turn into their most successful year yet. Robert explains why he thinks the second half of the year is set to be so fruitful:

“Because they are not able to spend money on their favourite luxuries, like eating out and drinking in bars, we’re finding the public are wanting to spend their money on the next big luxury in their life – and that is their car. As a result, we are booked up into July, and are still receiving many more enquiries each day than we did before lockdown.”

The public have no need for concern about health and safety when it comes to booking their vehicles into Robert and Jonathan’s Car Care Centre during the pandemic. The duo have put in place a strict set of social distancing measuring and sanitising protocols to keep customers, and themselves, safe at all times. This includes only accepting customers that have an appointment, remote key drop offs and a deep clean of care before and after their repair.

Speaking about their achievement, Richard reflects on what it means to both Jonathan and himself:

“To reach the milestone of working on our 7,000th vehicle proves we have our business model in great working order, and we’re very grateful to every customer we’ve had in the past, and anyone who comes through our doors in the future. We’re proud to have ridden out the storm of COVID-19 and are now very much open for business for the Lincoln public.”
