Chipsaway has shown it’s a franchise with a big heart, as it raised over £1,000 for Bangers4Ben’s 2019 charity rally.

ChipsAway, the UK’s leading car paintwork and repairs van-based franchise, got stuck into a French adventure as part of charity rally event Bangers4Ben.

Two of ChipsAway’s specialists, Steve Perkins and Terrance Thant, took part in the rally across France in a fish-and-chips themed Jaguar which was over 15 years old and had 150,000 miles behind it.

The vehicle that took them on their road trip around France raised £1070 when it was auctioned off at the end of the event. This sum will be donated to Bangers4Ben, a charity dedicated to offering all types of lifelong support to those working in the automotive industry, as well as their families and dependents.

Steve loved their European endeavour and is delighted with what the two have raised, commenting: “As Bangers4Ben newbies, we were made to feel instantly at home on the rally, amongst seasoned veterans and fellow newbies, alike. It was filled with abundant laughter, cheeky banter and large dollops of French hospitality!”

He continued:

“It was an immensely fun and well-run event, which raises significant funds for the incredibly worthy cause, championed by the charity BEN. We felt truly honoured to be representing ChipsAway and to be part of the motor industry world, having both come from such polar opposite previous careers.”

Managing Director of ChipsAway, Tim Harris, is also very grateful for the generosity of all supporters of the worthy cause.

“We couldn’t have done this without the help of some of our very generous suppliers, including; Octoral – who donated the paint for the full respray that was undertaken, ICB, The Van Hubb, Automotive Training Solutions and Grovenet. We’re so pleased to have reached and surpassed our £1,000 target, but if anyone would still like to donate towards this extremely worthy cause, I urge you to please visit our fundraising page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/chipsawayb4b. We really appreciate any support you can give!”
