Chem-Dry has raised over $28,000 for Best Friends Animal Society in its first year of partnership with the charity.

Leading carpet and upholstery cleaner, Chem-Dry, partnered with Best Friends Animal Society a year ago and committed to help raise money for the charity. It had set a target of raising $25,000 within a year, and it has smashed it, raising $3,000 more to reach a total of $28,000. Following such a great success, it has signed a second-year partnership with the charity.

Best Friends Animal Society works to end the killing of pets in the US. Thousands are killed simply because they are unwanted, and the charity helped nearly 10,000 animals to get rehomed or transferred into regional programmes in 2017.

Chem-Dry chose Best Friends Animal Society because, on a more personal level, it wants to encourage pet adoption across the US. The Best Friends Animal Society’s pledge to achieve a No Kill policy in the US by 2025 is closely aligned with Chem-Dry’s support of pet adoption.

That’s not all, it reflects the company’s mission to provide healthier homes for families and their pets. Given that 85% of its customers own pets, it is incredibly important for Chem-Dry that it promotes the value of caring well for pets.

To help raise the $28,000, Chem-Dry donated $1 of the money generated from every sale of the specially-marked Chem-Dry World Famous Spot Remover. Other promotional activities included the ‘Strut your Mutt’ event, which saw hundreds of people across the country join together for a day of dog walking activities.

Chem-Dry’s donations have a huge impact on Best Friends Animal Society. Eric Rayvid, PR Director at the charity explains how, “our national partnership with Chem-Dry was such a success and its support for our organisation has made an impact on the lives of thousands of animals.”

Chem-Dry’s next fundraising goal is to raise $30,000 for the charity. It already has plans in place to achieve this, and has had t-shirts printed with a ‘Cleaning for the Paws’ motif for its franchisees who help with the events to wear, which will help to raise awareness of its work and the charity.
