Cafe2U encourages its rivals to launch more eco-friendly initiatives following its Green Coffee Month.
Cafe2U is stepping up to the environmental challenge facing many companies who offer takeaway beverages by celebrating the success of its Green Coffee Month movement.
The annual focus on making coffee greener aimed to encourage customers to cut down on the number of takeaway coffee cups they use, to reduce the huge amount that are filling up landfill sites across the country. Cafe2U’s 90 UK vans all pushed the eco-friendly movement, which began with Reusable Cup Week at the beginning of October.
The coffee van franchise, which provides a flexible business opportunity offering hot and cold drinks to workplaces, large events, parties and much more, has encouraged its rivals to launch similar initiatives. Cafe2U has sold more than 2,000 of its reusable coffee cups over the last two years, saving potentially thousands of disposable ones clogging up landfill sites and is committed to continuing its eco-friendly campaign.
Spokesperson for Cafe2U, Sam Parish, explained why the franchise decided to launch its Green Coffee Month.
"We decided to launch the campaign to highlight the great strides we've made improving our environmental impact. We also want to encourage customers and other coffee brands to think about their impact and what coffee drinking has on the environment.”
As well as encouraging its customers to think carefully about the waste they produce, Cafe2U will also be donating 10p to environmental charity Hubbub Foundation for every coffee they sell in a reusable cup.
