Revive Auto Innovations isn’t only about automotive repairs and services; you can also pass on your business as an inheritance to your children. That’s what Ian Stewart discovered after a major supermarket chain made his position as distribution manager redundant. After starting his own franchise business under the Revive name, he realised he could make it a family business.
His two sons, Chris and Ian Junior, bring their own skills to the table. While Chris is more on the technical side, Ian is fantastic with social media and marketing. With their father at the helm, they provide fantastic automobile services under the Revive name in Southampton.
Father Ian says it’s helped him build a legacy he can pass on to his children and grandchildren:
“I never envisaged being made redundant in my fifties, and of course, at that stage of life, I had no thoughts about leaving a job to set up my own business. But I wanted to take charge of my own destiny, so working for somebody else again wasn’t an option. Before joining Tesco, I ran a Service Master franchise with my father, so I knew how franchising worked. It made sense to find an interesting proven business model that I could buy into and then hit the ground running.”
The Stewarts are currently focusing on the retail side of their Revive Auto Innovations business, increasing customers and sales while Ian Senior plans his retirement. He says he’ll give it three more years running the franchise business and then hand it over to his sons.
