Bridgwater Gets Its First Papa John’s

Papa’s John is bringing its pizzas to Bridgwater in Somerset.

A two-man team based in Wales is openings its seventh Papa John’s store, this time in Bridgwater. It joins outlets in Cwmbran, Pontypridd, Merthyr Tydfil and a number near Bristol, run by John O’Brien and Clif Roberson.

Their significant success running their business is seeing them branch out further with their pizza takeaway stores. In fact, Papa John named the pair its UK franchisees of the year in 2016.

The latest branch in Bridgwater has just opened its doors on Taunton Road. People have already flocked to try their new local takeaway, sampling pizzas such as Hawaiian, American Hot, Sausage & Pepperoni, Chicken BBQ and a new one, BBQ Cheeseburger.

John O’Brien and Clif Roberson now employ more than 120 members of staff between the stores. Roberson explains how his team has developed over the years, “we have managers to help us, all who have been promoted from within. Interestingly, all of them started out in our very first store and have worked their way up, taking on more responsibility”. It’s clear that these Papa John’s franchises have a big name but an independent approach that thrives off the local community.

Owning the stores under the Papa John’s name has given the owners a real chance to thrive. Roberson also says “Papa John’s offers the opportunity for energetic and entrepreneurial individuals to be part of a growing, successful business. Its enthusiasm and passion for the pizza business has been instrumental in helping us focus on our growth”.

Roberson goes on to explain that their goal is to have 15 stores under their ownership, and this new opening shows that they are motivated to get there.
