Ableworld opens a new store that’s set to have a café and fully functioning mobility scooter test track.
Ableworld has been celebrating the opening of its largest ever store, which is set to include a café and meeting space.
The new 6,000 sq ft shop, which is in Llandudno, will soon have a test track to allow customers to take new mobility scooters for a ‘test drive’ before they head out onto the roads and pavements of their neighbourhoods. Many Ableworld stores have them, after growing concerns in the mobility industry that customers aren’t safe and confident on their devices before taking them out.
The new opening comes as Ableworld seeks to expand its sales strategy by acquiring new, bigger sales spaces that allow the mobility franchise to display its extensive range of products. It will also diversify into more ‘lifestyle’ elements of the business and is currently waiting on planning permission for a café and meeting area within the large store to make it a social hub as well as an expert mobility store.
Mike Williams, Ableworld’s Managing Director, has explained that, in addition to the new opening, the mobility aid company is expanding stores across the network in an effort to stand out amongst competitors.
“In the last year, we have been concentrating on our present portfolio by enlarging the sales spaces in both Newport & Crewe by taking over neighbours’ spaces as they’ve moved out and we are also targeting four other stores to either enlarge or re-locate.”
Mike added, “our model is different to most of our opposition, where we strongly believe we should offer complete mobility ranges (well over 1000 in-store lines) along with the service, not to be just a box mover in the larger items.”
Ableworld claim to have double the in-store ranges and sales area than its closest competitor, and with over 30 stores across the UK, it’s able to assist customers with even the most complex of mobility needs.
