Lindsey and Karl, new Elite franchisees of The Travel Franchise, secured a remarkable booking of £298,791, enabling them to achieve the franchise’s Money Back Challenge in just four months while still working full-time outside of travel.
How did new consultants Lindsey and Karl achieve record success?
Lindsey and Karl began their travel consultancy in June and quickly secured a landmark £298,791 booking for a private jet group trip to the Caribbean. Their achievement was particularly notable as they are newcomers to the travel sector, balancing this new venture alongside their existing full-time roles as store managers in Lincolnshire.
This major booking not only increased their commission but also made them the fastest consultants to meet the requirements of the company’s Money Back Challenge. This initiative refunds Elite franchisees their £14,995 franchise fee once they reach a set commission target within their first year. “Our goal was always to achieve the MBC,” notes Lindsey. “But balancing full-time jobs with running a travel consultancy is a real challenge and we didn’t think we’d be able to succeed. Now, with this one booking alone, we’ve done it and are planning to go full time in travel next year.”
What inspired their journey into travel franchising?
The couple’s story with The Travel Franchise began nearly four years ago after attending a Discovery event and meeting the co-founders. Lindsey and Karl postponed initial plans to focus on personal travel but later returned ready to commit, attracted by the network’s training and guidance. Previously, they sold their home to travel for a year, then settled in Lincolnshire with determination to turn their love for travel into a business. “We’re realising quickly that if we had more time, what could we achieve with this business?” shares Lindsey.
How did they secure their milestone booking?
This significant sale, made while on holiday in South Africa, was for high-net-worth repeat clients. Lindsey recalls: “There were times I wondered if it would fall through due to challenges like limited first-class seat availability, but I suggested a private jet and ITC made it happen.” The support they received was also instrumental. “From our Business Development Manager Catherine, who's been incredible, to the wider support team, who respond so quickly, there’s always someone on hand to answer questions. That support makes all the difference.”
What does the future hold for Lindsey and Karl?
With the Money Back Challenge completed and their largest booking secured, both are planning to reinvest their £14,995 into building their travel business full-time. “We’re ecstatic. It still hasn’t sunk in yet! For us, travel isn’t just a business – it’s a passion.”
Co-founder Paul Harrison confirms the growing momentum: “More people than ever before have achieved the Money Back Challenge in 2025. It’s no small feat, especially for those juggling another job, but dozens upon dozens have proved it’s possible and 98 per cent are new to travel. The latest statistics show that the challenge is becoming easier to achieve, as more people choose to book their holidays with someone they know, like and trust.”
