One Less Thing operates as a domestic cleaning agency model, where you act as the professional management layer between clients and self-employed cleaners.
Your day-to-day role involves:
- Responding to local client enquiries and building rapport
- Recruiting and vetting self-employed cleaners in your area
- Matching clients with suitable cleaners based on their needs
- Monitoring service standards and client satisfaction
- Managing operations through custom-built One Less Thing software
- Collecting agency fees via direct debit, reducing admin and payment chasing
The business runs entirely from home, with no premises, no stock, no commuting, and no cleaning required. The franchise agreement runs for up to 15 years, and the business can be sold in the future, making it both an income source and a long-term asset. Franchisees can target £90,000+ per year in recurring agency fee revenue within four years, with profit margins of up to 73%.
Business Launch Working Capital & Target Earning Ranges
- Franchise fee: £10,000 + VAT.
- Business launch and working capital: We recommend allowing approximately £10,000 to support your business launch and early-stage growth.
- Target revenue by year 2: Franchisees can work towards target revenue of £80,000 by the end of year two.
- Potential earnings in years 3 to 5: As the business becomes more established, target annual revenue can grow towards the £70,000 to £90,000 range.
Desired location
Every One Less Thing franchise comes with a large, exclusive territory carefully selected to maximise local opportunity and demand. Over 140 territories have been mapped across the UK, each chosen for strong demand for domestic cleaning services. Franchisees can select a territory close to home, and once established, may have the option to purchase neighbouring territories to expand their business further (subject to availability).
Training and support
One Less Thing provides comprehensive support from day one through to long-term growth:
- 3.5 days of initial training at HQ and/or via Zoom, covering all aspects of running the business, including scripts, templates, and real examples
- 1.5 days of follow-up training after your first quarter to focus on areas for development
- Regular Zoom support calls for the first six months
- Full operations manual documenting proven processes for every part of the business
- Access to recruitment tools, documents, and agreements via an e-signature system
- Ongoing mentoring and support for the life of the franchise
- Customer acquisition guidance, including managed Google Ads campaigns
- First 60 qualified client enquiries included to support launch
- First six months royalty free (£250 or 8% from month seven)
Travel and accommodation expenses are not included in the franchise fee.
