Why did Tatty Bumpkin change its name to Children Inspired by Yoga?

After it was founded in 2004 by designer, mom, and Yoga teacher Sam Petter, Tatty Bumpkin delivered a creative and ethical developmental programme for babies and children. After beginning its franchising journey in 2007, the business went from strength to strength throughout its formative years, and was nominated as Franchisor of the Year in 2016 during the Mumandworking Awards hosted by Natwest.

Having expanded its offering to a wider range of children’s exercise, the Tatty Bumpkin arm of the Children Inspired by Yoga brand serves 2-7 year olds, while Baby Bumpkin, Tatty Guroo and Yoga Guroo work with other age ranges, from 0 to 16.

Joining Children Inspired by Yoga will see you become a part of an award-winning, multi-disciplinary developmental programme that has been meticulously designed and developed by educationalists, paediatric physiotherapists, yoga teachers, artists and musicians. It is also aligned to the national curriculum, and is industry recognised, having been endorsed NCFE (previously known as CACHE - Council for Child, Health, Care and Education) and The Yoga Alliance.

Starting a Children Inspired by Yoga franchise

Now that you’re clued up on the history of the Children Inspired by Yoga franchise - and know that it does franchise in the UK - you’ll no doubt be curious about how you can become a children’s exercise franchisee yourself. The franchise is growing every day, and is excited about welcoming new franchisees on board in a partnership that will be beneficial to both parties.

We take a holistic view of the long-term to bring a return on investment to you and your community, and we offer a proven success for driven individuals with a desire to run their own business, regardless of their background.

After contacting Children Inspired by Yoga via our own Point Franchise page, the team will take you through several steps as a part of the onboarding process, including multiple training sessions and a run-through of your business plan. While you don’t need any prior qualifications to become a Children Inspired by Yoga franchisee, the types of people that will fit perfectly into the role will encompass the following characteristics:

  • Loyal to the CIbY and brand above all
  • Management capability at a professional level
  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Have an accentuated drive for success
  • Committed to working full time in the franchisee unit
  • Have previous business experience
  • Faithfully follows the indications of the CIbY franchise model

2. How much do you need to invest?

In order to become a Children Inspired by Yoga franchisee, you’ll need to make a minimum initial investment of £10,000 + VAT. This is far lower than the average cost of starting a franchise, as of 2018, which was £42,200 [British Franchise Association]. With dozens of franchisees already making up a wide-spanning network, the stage is set for you to make a career change with a child care franchise and join the UK’s longest running children’s yoga company.

More than ever, people are looking to invest in the children's service sector because they recognise the longevity of the industry, the potential for growth and, in many cases, the ability to make a difference in children's lives.

2. Scalable - you can hire self-employed teachers to expand the number of classes you run.

3. Flexible - by using self-employed teachers you can earn money while not teaching those classes yourself, allowing you to prioritise what matters to you.
