Leightons leads the way

Leightons will be sharing its industry leading audiology service model at a prestigious conference in January 2019.

Leightons Opticians has been invited to speak about its audiology service at one of the largest conferences in the world of optometry, 100% Optical 2019.

The event, which will take place in January next year, will bring together experts from across the eye care sector and allow them to share their expertise with attendees, who either run their own business or are simply passionate about their work. Experts who have been invited to speak include University of Bradford’s Dr Samantha Strong, who will discuss how our brain affects what we can see, and University of Exeter’s Dr Sarah Bell, who will talk about her work with visually impaired people in different nature environments.

Leightons Opticians CEO, Ryan Leighton, revealed that the franchise will be attending to share its advice for independent opticians on how an audiology service could benefit their business. He said:
“We will be on hand to explain everything in detail, about exactly how our service not just helps provide the hearing service but also those added-value components that helps to make sense to any independent optician looking for a service that is built as the UK's sole opticians-only audiology business.”

Event director Nathan Garnett explained why he felt it was important to discuss audiology as well as optometry at the event.
“With an ageing population, the diversification of practices into additional care, such as audiology, and the role that they will play supporting the NHS in the future, optical professionals have a fantastic opportunity and should view the future with excitement.”

He added that the event will not only showcase the new opportunities but will show optical professionals how to make the most out of the changes within the industry, as Leightons has done.
