About Satchel Learning

Welcome to Satchel Learning

Satchel Learning was founded to provide children of all ages and abilities with the best possible start in life, to achieve success at school and in exams and to inspire them to achieve their full potential.

The unique Satchel Learning programme allows franchisees to provide personalised tuition to large numbers of children easily and efficiently. Satchel helps children with their core maths and English skills, as well as preparing them for SATs, entrance exams and GCSEs.

We are a friendly, family company with a mission to change children’s lives for the better. We are looking for talented, hard-working people to become Satchel Learning franchises to spread our message across the UK.

Training and support provided

At Satchel Learning, we are here to help you at every stage of the way from initial training through to ongoing support. New franchisees firstly focus on the business aspects of running a Satchel franchisee, alongside developing a knowledge of the Satchel maths and English courses. You will become intimately familiar with the Satchel Learning System and Operations manuals which provide you with everything you need to run a successful Satchel franchise.

We are currently conducting training using Zoom sessions. In the future we hope to have franchisees visit our Head Office and actual Satchel classes!

Ongoing support is supplied by your own dedicated franchise manager, as well as online forums and regular conferences.

What kind of franchise were you looking for?

I was looking to work in an education-based franchise. Outside of lockdown, I would normally work around two days a week in my local school and with the experience I have gained, I knew that starting up a business in tuition would be ideal for me.

Why did you choice a Satchel franchise?

I chose Satchel as it gave me an opportunity to deal and communicate openly with Richard, the founder of the company, rather than a franchise manager. Satchel has a wide range of quality materials and branding that appeals to the customer. I believe that this business, if run well, can compete well with competitors in the tuition market both large and small.

How have you found the training so far?

While there has been a lot to cover, the comprehension training is flexible, and I’ve been able to work at my own pace. Richard has shared his wealth of knowledge and experience with me at every stage of the process. Meetings are normally conducted on Zoom due to lockdown measures and I have been guided in a preparing business plan, finding a suitable venue and how the booklets are structured and should be set. I hope to complete training in person and visit an actual Satchel class in action at some point.

When do you hope to start your franchise?

I hope to launch my new business at the start of the new academic year (mainly due to coronavirus). I am very much eager to start and help children in my local area to improve their maths and English skills.
