Veeno brings a taste of Italy to Norwich
Veeno Wine Café will be opening its 19th UK branch in Norwich’s Castle Mall shopping area.
With its focus on quality Sicilian wines and ‘Spuntini’ (small sharing platters of meats, cheeses and other tasty appetisers), as well as creating a fantastic atmosphere to relax with friends and family, the Italian drinks franchise is growing in popularity. Its latest branch in Norwich’s Castle Mall area, which is set to open its doors next month, will be the franchise’s 19th.
Veeno was founded in 2013 by Italian friends Andrea Zecchino and Nino Caruso, who met in Manchester. The two connected over their mutual disappointment that the culture of Italian Aperitivo, or getting together after work to have nibbles, drinks and a wind down for the day, wasn’t popular in the UK and set about changing this. So, Veeno was born, opening its first branch in Manchester and continuing to expand across the UK ever since.
With its tasty range of light bites including bruschetta topped with spicy Nduja sausage, classic pomodoro or black olive pate, salads and focaccia paninis with classic Italian fillings, Veeno offers a delicious range of lunches or snacks. And it’s sharing platters, which include cured Italian meats, authentic cheeses and bread, are a great way to enjoy the tastes of Italy with friends.
The franchise even offers an Italian afternoon tea experience, serving a selection of focaccia, meats, cheese, cakes and scones with mascarpone instead of the traditional clotted cream. With its license to serve alcohol until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, Veeno is hoping to become a place to relax during the week and a meeting place for celebrations at the weekend, where people can sample its quality range of Sicilian wines for themselves.
