The Zip Yard in Kerry kicks off fundraising efforts for a colleague who tragically lost her husband.
The Zip Yard’s Tralee branch in Kerry has been showing that its employees are a compassionate bunch after one of their colleagues lost her husband in a tragic fishing accident.
Inga Permitina, who works as a seamstress at the Tralee location, lost her husband Valerijs in a fishing accident at the end of September. What should’ve been a fun day at sea with friends sadly ended in the worst possible way, as Valerijs and his two friends were claimed by rough seas that threw them from their boat.
To help their friend and colleague through such a difficult time, Inga’s manager and colleagues at the clothing alterations franchise set up a bank account for her, as well as launching a Go Fund Me campaign, to help Inga take her husband back to their native country, Latvia.
The team hopes to raise enough to allow her to return Valerijs’ ashes to his elderly mother in the country, so he can rest peacefully with his family. Any leftover money will be put towards the cost of his funeral and to help cover the bills and rent for Inga and her two-year-old son. The kind gesture by the team at The Zip Yard will ease the financial burden for Inga and allow her to return to work as soon as possible.
