The Alternative Board has been praised for its business model by an influential industry magazine.

The Alternative Board (TAB) has been celebrating after it was named Best Business Advice and Coaching Franchise by the influential Entrepreneur magazine.

Entrepreneur receives more than 6 million visitors to its website every month and is published in 10 countries. Being recognised by such a popular outlet is a fantastic achievement for The Alternative Board, showing that its business model is one worthy of praise. The accolade was given after the magazine evaluated franchises based on over 150 data points, including size, growth, brand strength, the support given to its franchisees and the stability and strength of its finances.

The Alternative Board performed well in all categories, leading it to be the deserving winner of the recognition.

Jason Zickerman, chairman of The Alternative Board, expressed the franchises delight at the praise:

"We are very honoured with this recognition, but not completely surprised. The Alternative Board has been active for more than 25 years and during that time the franchise has grown internationally, and members have reported tremendous growth as a result of their coaching services."

The consulting franchise, which offers a unique approach to business coaching through local boards of successful business owners, had another reason to celebrate as well. It was also ranked in the top 50 percent of Entrepreneurs Franchise 500 list, which lists the best franchises in the world based on their performance, alongside internationally recognised brands such as McDonalds, 7-Eleven and Dunkin Donuts.

With over 3,600 members spanning 18 countries worldwide, The Alternative Board is different from most business coaching companies. Founder Allen Fishman realised that the non-executive directors within his company provided invaluable advice, and wanted to find a way that all business owners could access peer-support. So, he launched The Alternative Board almost 30 years ago, to allow business owners access to local boards of experienced business owners who could help iron out tricky problems in both their personal and professional lives.
