American fast-food giant, Taco Bell, has announced that it is expanding operations in the UK with 3 more outlets planned for 2017. The popular tex-mex restaurant chain plans restaurants in Sheffield, Brighton and Barnsley. Both the Sheffield and Barnsley restaurants will be ran by the brands largest UK franchisee, QFM. QFM also operate KFC and Costa Coffee outlets since the company was started in 1982.
The planned restaurant for Brighton will be ran by the Caskade Group who also partner with Taco Bell in the south of England. The restaurant will have two floors with 100 covers.
The planned expansion will take Taco Bell’s restaurant portfolio to 22 with further plans to expand across the country in 2018. A recent announcement was made with Deliveroo to start home delivery - this will begin with 11 of the firms restaurants throughout the country.
Taco Bell was started in the US 1962 and now as over 7,000 restaurants worldwide - in 2015 the group posted close to $2 billion of revenue. The UK arm first began operations in 1986 with Yum! Brands taking hold of expansion in the 2000’s.
