Seniors Helping Seniors co-sponsors dementia event
Seniors Helping Seniors sponsor ‘Living Well with Dementia’ event to help educate sufferers and their families.
Seniors Helping Seniors is proud to be co-sponsors of ‘Living Well with Dementia’, an event set up by Dementia-Friendly Communities of Northern Colorado.
Taking place on Saturday 9th June at the Fort Collins Senior Centre, the programme is anticipated to be a popular one. There will be a presentation by Lori La Bey, the highly celebrated founder of Alzheimer’s Speaks and one of the top online influencers on the topic. She will also be joined by Cyndy Luzinski, founder of Dementia-Friendly Communities of Northern Colorado who is responsible for setting up the morning programme. Both women will discuss ways to move the focus of dementia care from “crisis to comfort” and share their expertise on the resources and opportunities that allow dementia sufferers to live happy and fulfilled lives despite their diagnosis.
There will also be an Artisan sale by ‘Friends Living with Dementia’ and their care partners at the event. All proceeds will go towards keeping Dementia-Friendly Communities of Northern Colorado running and working with sufferers in the area and there will be lots of other opportunities for charitable donations around the event.
