Puddle Ducks has raised over £300,000 for local charities in the last six years.

Swimming franchise Puddle Ducks has worked tirelessly over the past few years to fundraise for local charities by holding its national PJ Week.

The franchise offers swimming lessons to babies and children. Its chosen charities include hospices, search and rescue operations and, suitably, charitable organisations that support families of children with life-threating conditions. In total, it’s raised more than £300,000.

During PJ Week, around 21,000 little swimmers and their families turn up to regularly scheduled classes donning their pyjamas. While there, they can donate money to the chosen causes whilst learning vital life skills.

Jo Stone, Managing Director of Puddle Ducks, commented:

“We are absolutely delighted that through our network of Puddle Ducks classes we have been able to raise so much sponsorship money for local causes that are close to the hearts of our families. Raising a total of £302,680 is just amazing.”

The fundraising week not only allows children to learn valuable swimming skills, but also the importance of charity and giving back to others.

“Wearing pyjamas during swimming lessons is also about more than just having fun. Most accidents will happen while your child is fully clothed, so Pyjama Week gives our network of classes a great opportunity to teach children what this will feel like. It will help them realise that they will feel heavier, but they will still be able to do the important life-saving manoeuvres like kicking to the surface and reaching for the side”, Jo adds.

The Puddle Ducks franchise was founded in 2002. It’s a flexible opportunity for franchisees to run their own business either through investing in a new territory or buying an already-established Puddle Ducks business. Not only that, franchisees can choose to train as one of the swimming teachers or hire staff to teach while they manage the business.
