Many of Kumon’s centres in the US are offering free registration until October 15th to help kids get back to school.
The discount is designed to help learners readjust to a proper learning routine with confidence, after being out of school for six months in many cases. Between August 16th and October 15th, parents can visit participating centres and sign their children up for extra-curricular tuition without any registration fees.
Many of the education franchise’s centres are offering both in-person and virtual classes, meaning parents can choose the option they feel most comfortable with. Both options will allow children to keep up with learning in core subjects like English and maths, or to push themselves if they’re missing the challenge of school.
To help with a phased reopening, Kumon centres will still be running virtual classes to limit how many children are in at one time. This will keep everyone safe and allow for proper social distancing between students. However, children opting for online classes won’t be missing out, as the franchise explained:
“The virtual classes are being held via videoconferencing where students complete the assigned work from the comfort of their home while a certified Instructor or assistant is available for assistance.”
It also outlined the measure it is implementing to keep everyone safe over the coming months.
“As centers continue to reopen for in-center classes, Kumon has implemented strict safety guidelines which include regularly cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces, scheduling students to prevent overcrowding, practicing social distancing, providing a mix of in-center and virtual classes at participating centers to limit class sizes, spacing out the desks and implementing staggered seating, washing hands frequently, checking temperatures upon entry, and wearing masks.”
