Heritage Healthcare organises a charity golf day to raise money for a local hospice.
A Heritage Healthcare franchise has been appealing to the local community once again for people to get involved with its annual charity golf day. The Darlington branch of the home care franchise has been raising money for the local St Teresa’s Hospice for the last 17 years by hosting a fun golf day.
Businesses, community groups and other organisations across the area can contribute to the event by entering a team and seeing if they’ve got what it takes to claim the title. The day will use the Stableford system, which ranks golfers based on who plays closest to their handicap rather than who gets the lowest score, to crown the winner, but there will also be competitions such as who can hit the longest drive. Or, if golfing isn’t their thing, there are plenty of opportunities to sponsor a tee or provide prizes for the auction and raffle that will be held in the evening.
The Heritage Healthcare event has raised an incredible £210,000 for St Teresa’s Hospice since it began in 2000, allowing the independent charity to continue the fantastic work it does for the terminally ill. The franchise’s commitment has been so great that Sally Pickersgill, Heritage Healthcare’s Director, has been made an honorary member of the Darlington and District hospice movement.
A spokesperson for Heritage Healthcare thanked participants in last year’s event for their support and appealed for people’s generosity at this year’s event.
“Last years’ Golf Day was again successful and it was all down to your generosity. We’d be extremely grateful if [local businesses] could provide auction, raffle or team prizes for the event, all of which will be acknowledged during the presentation evening.”
With its commitment to quality care and exceeding client expectations, Heritage Healthcare is one of the UK’s leading home care franchises.
