Full Circle Funerals Harrogate Director developed a scheme to provide special gift packs for local carers.
David Billington, who runs the funeral franchise branch covering the Harrogate area, came up with the idea and collaborated with 23 nearby businesses. Each offered special items to go towards a range of thank-you packages, from tea bags, toiletries and free haircuts to Zoom yoga sessions, acupuncture discounts and beauty treatments.
The franchisee then asked local care homes and charities to nominate employees who have gone above and beyond in their work during the pandemic.
Once the gift packs were ready, representatives at Full Circle Funerals delivered them to worthy employees at Henshaws, Granby and Granby Rose Care Homes. Staff at Berwick Grange, Harrogate Skills for Living and Vida Grange were also given the exciting packages.
He explained,
“It’s a wonderful way to say thank you on behalf of the whole community to those unsung heroes who have done so much to support people in their care during coronavirus and through lockdown.
“I’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response from businesses, many of whom have themselves experienced the selflessness of Harrogate’s key workers during the crisis.”

“We would like to say a huge thank you to David and all the businesses who donated gifts to express gratitude to our care staff who have worked so tirelessly throughout the pandemic.”
The gift-giving scheme has proven incredibly popular across Harrogate, with many local organisations praising the idea. Oatlands Community group offered its support, and many other businesses, big and small, gave donations, including Harrogate Rotary Club, Harrogate Town Football Club and Asda Harrogate.
