From being a lifelong competitive athlete, Stephanie Cruz is an incredibly dedicated and focused individual. After graduating she became a software engineer, but also coached youth sports on the side.
During this time she realised how rewarding it can be having a positive impact on young peoples’ lives. Waving goodbye to her software engineer career, she wanted to transfer her sports coaching skills into the classroom. After carrying out thorough research into the franchise opportunity, she is now the owner of Kumon in Mt Pleasant, Laurel Hill.
Stephanie can’t wait to shape young minds with her education centre. It’s the first of its kind in the region too!
Stephanie said: “As a former collegiate volleyball player and youth coach, I often found that the most rewarding part of my days involved working with the young athletes. Watching them learn and feel a sense of accomplishment when they overcame obstacles to reach their goals brought a sense of pride for both of us.
“Becoming a Kumon Instructor has allowed me to do the same to help my students reach their full potential, along with to give back to families in my community.”
