Driver Hire raises money for a good cause and gets everyone into the spirit of the summer of football.
Driver Hire has been getting into the World Cup spirit by hosting its own thrilling football tournament. The leading transport and logistics recruitment franchise set up the day, which was almost as thrilling as the real thing, to raise money for a fantastic cause and allow staff to show off their skills.
The match was organised by Driver Hire Gatwick’s franchisee Nic Chaviaris and his hard-working office staff with the aim of raising money for Driver Hire’s Benevolent Fund. The fund supports Driver Hire’s dedicated network of staff through difficult times, providing financial support to drivers who fall victim to accidents at work or following the death of a family’s breadwinner. However, they’re not able to support everyone, which is why fundraising events like the match are vital to keep the fund in place.
Playing in the match of the year were teams Driver Hire XI, made up of players from Driver Hire’s nationwide network and Driver Hire Group Services/Paystream, which included staff from one of its key service suppliers. The game was exciting, with Driver Hire XI claiming a nine to four goal victory. There was even a penalty shootout, and the winners took home a Kindle Fire.
The day was a fantastic success. Not only was it enjoyable, but it managed to raise just under £3,000 for the fund, allowing the franchise to continue to support its drivers through future hardships.
Driver Hire is the UK’s largest specialist supplier of staff in the road transport and logistics industry and has been in business for 34 years. The firm provides both temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff when companies need extra support.
