Driver Hire’s franchise record-breaking Christmas sets the tone for 2018.
Christmas was busier than ever for Driver Hire with an outpour of demands for the franchise’s team of workers and a record-breaking turnover in December that skyrocketed to £13.1m, a 14% increase from the same period in 2016.
When Drivers Hire’s chief executive officer, Chris Chidley, was asked to comment on the highly profitable holiday trading period, he said: “Once again there’s been a big demand for our service in the run-up to Christmas. As in previous years, the increasing percentage of online retail sales – which create more home deliveries – has played a significant part in our success. In addition, our core national account customers, for whom high-quality reliable service really matters, have also kept us exceptionally busy.”
Nearly a third of Drivers Hire’s 102 offices have surpassed the £2m turnover and six more offices expected to follow in their trails next month. Driver Hire’s business is not only reaching record levels in the UK, its Australian arm delivered a colossal 60% growth for the period, with a network record-breaking turnover of £1.51m, with its Brisbane office reporting a turnover of £116k in a single week.
