Christies Care awarded “Outstanding” CQC rating while promoting benefits of live-in care.
The care franchise achieved the top ‘Outstanding’ rating, as its services were found to be effective, well-led and responsive. It was also rated ‘Good’ for being caring and safe. Christies Care picked up the same ratings in 2016, showing consistent and improving standards and putting the franchise in the top 3% of live-in care providers in England.
Christies Care, according to inspectors, continued to be “outstandingly well-led and responsive” thanks to its fantastic support and activities that consider each individual’s wishes. Inspectors praised the care provider for making sure continuous learning is “embedded in the culture of the service”.
Its “caring and committed” staff and a “cohesive management team” were also recognised. At the heart of Christies Care, the inspectors said, are “outstanding, strong values” which are demonstrated through the team's drive to learn and implement the best individual person-centred practice.
Lin Barnes, registered manager and director of Christies Care, said the franchise was thrilled with its achievement.
“In this industry, you can’t stand still. Regulatory changes and the changing political landscape mean we have to work hard to stay ahead of the game. Our team, from management to support staff, are all extremely motivated to deliver the very best care to our clients and support to our carers.
I’m so proud of them all for the contributions they make daily to maintain our forward momentum and it’s the icing on the cake that we were able to demonstrate this to the CQC again in our recent inspection. It’s been a big year for us, we have secured some awards that reflect our hard work in the industry and we are ready to continue to deliver a really excellent service to our clients in 2020 and beyond.”
The home care franchise has also contributed to a new report that makes the case for 24-hour care at home as a better alternative to residential care published by the Live in Care Hub.
As part of a group of 20, Christies Care hopes to raise the quality of care in the UK by widening the opportunity to be cared for at home, and will present evidence for the benefits of live-in care.
