Chipsaway is keeping up with the fast pace of new auto innovations to ensure its customers’ safety is never compromised following its services.

With new automotive technology being released all the time, it can be tricky for vehicle repair companies to keep up. The introduction of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which can be found in cars which are able to ‘drive’ for you (such as some Tesla models), has brought up new challenges for motor repair technicians. If cars featuring these systems are repaired, the ADAS can be disrupted, leaving the driver without the assistance they’re expecting.

However, ChipsAway is committed to ensuring it’s up to date with the latest technology. It has announced that all of its technicians will have full access to information about customer cars’ ADAS systems, allowing them vital insight into whether they need to perform a safety-critical recalibration after carrying out any repair work.

Managing Director, Tim Harris, explained why the van-based franchise is changing the way its engineers treat cars with ADAS fitted.

“As brand leaders, we know how important it is to stay ahead of the game in terms of technological advances. Our market-leading software agreement ensures that not only do our specialists have the vital ADAS information at their fingertips, but even more importantly, they can then provide the customer with an introduction to a complete recalibration service, following any repair work.”

He also added that safety is something that makes up a big part of ChipsAway’s business culture.
