Baskin-Robbins recently announced its expansion plans in Canada with four new locations in Toronto, Ontario.
The world’s largest ice cream speciality shops franchise chain has announced it is heading up north to explore Canadian markets. Baskin-Robbins kicks off its expansion programme in the Toronto, Ontario market with the signing of four new shop development agreements with three franchising groups, the first of which is scheduled to open in 2019. With over 80 locations across Toronto area, Baskins-Robbins will be focussing on the brands’ growth throughout the region in 2018. The three franchisee groups involved in the brand’s Canadian expansion are Baskin-Robbins franchisees Durgesh and Rakesh Sikka who are planning a new shop in Georgetown, Ontario as a topping to their existing shops in Brampton. Baskin-Robbins franchisees James Lin has signed a multi-unit deal to develop two units in the Toronto area and Chintan Patel is planning to open a single location in the Toronto market.
Baskin-Robbins franchisee Durgesh Sikka said: “After experiencing significant growth with our Baskin-Robbins ice cream shops in Brampton, we knew it was time to expand our portfolio with an additional location. We’re looking forward to bringing the brand’s 31 flavour’s to the local community in greater Toronto.”
