Anytime Fitness looks back on 16 years of fitness after it passes the one billion workouts milestone
Anytime Fitness recently celebrated the billionth time that a member entered one of its gyms and has been looking back on some of the most memorable moments in its history.
Most of its members enter their local Anytime Fitness to work on their fitness goals, be that training for their next long-distance run, honing their physique with weight training or simply getting a sweat on to keep their heart healthy and happy. However, some amazing things have happened across the world in branches of the fitness franchise, including franchisee Radley West donating a kidney to one of her gym members and member Betty Lou Sweeney smashing the existing planking world record by holding one for more than 36 minutes at the age of 71!
There have been love stories, including trainers Zack Underwood and Laura Bevilaqua’s which ended in him proposing with a huge sign on the wall of their local Anytime Fitness. And, on one occasion, new life was nearly welcomed in between the treadmills as runner Sandy Simmers’ waters broke while she was completing a run.
Chuck Runyon, CEO and co-founder of Anytime Fitness, commented on the unusual moments, saying:
