Indonesian companies are being encouraged to give back to their local communities through corporate social responsibility initiatives that inspire small businesses to reach higher. However, according to business coaching franchise ActionCOACH, more needs to be done to improve the financial stability of SME’s in the country.
Prijono Nugroho, ActionCOACH Jakarta’s Managing Partner, commented on how a lot of programmes are guilty of not helping small businesses.
"For example, at some seminars or conferences, the organiser would only invite prominent speakers to share insights without giving structured guidance and accountability in the execution. As a result, the sponsoring company have no real way to market their community impact."
ActionCOACH says that all businesses who truly want to help smaller enterprises grow should invest in programmes that offer education, planning, guidance and accountability, as well as the inspiration they currently offer.
